"The Cracow Gold Operation is 100% owned by Aeris Resources and is located adjacent to the town of Cracow, 500 kilometres north-west of Brisbane, Queensland, and 50 kilometres from the town of Theodore. Aeris Resources purchased the Cracow mine from Evolution Mining in July 2020. Cracow has been a consistent and reliable operation, producing a total of 1.4 million ounces of gold since mining began in 2004. Cracow has a strong track record for replacing ore reserves, and Aeris has a $13 million exploration budget planned in FY2022 . Surface exploration will be focused on testing the Ballymore, Boughyard, Cracow, South West and Eastern field targets.
Gold mineralisation within the Cracow operation is associated low sulphidation epithermal mineralisation formed along multiple fault structures over the current known footprint of 4 kilometres x 4 kilometres. Along each mineralised structure, higher grade gold shoots form at sites of increased dilation and fluid flow.
Cracow has performed well over the last 12 months. For the FY2021 Aeris was targeting production between 70,000 – 75,000 ounces at AISC of between $A1,525oz-A$1,575oz"

Tungsten will melt at ~ 3,690 K (3,417°C), making it the element with the highest melting point at atmospheric pressure. Carbon has a melting point somewhere between 4700 and 4900 K (~4400-4600°C), depending on which form the carbon is in, however pressures in excess of 10.7-11.0 MPa are required, otherwise, it will sublimate at temperatures beginning at 3000 K.

In Luke’s own words;
“Chemistry is not necessarily something someone may initially believe they will take an interest in, that is up until they find something they thoroughly enjoy and they go from there. This was the case for myself when I began my dual Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Food Science and Wine Science and the University of Southern Queensland.
Being able to study the chemistry behind everyday items, like food, can be incredibly interesting and gives yourself an extra lens to view the world through. It takes something which appears simple on the surface and delves deeper into the chemical meaning behind it to explain why it is the way it is and how it got to this stage. Being able to understand how the chemicals in food affect our senses, how they may impact our health, or how chemical process can be used to manipulate food items into different creations are interesting areas of study I enjoy.”

Congratulations to Ms Adile Kaban, the 2021 recipient of the Rowe Scientific Chemistry Scholarship, at the University of Wollongong.

In Adile’s words;
“Throughout my childhood, I was always drawing, writing, or reading a book about ancient history, making me naturally believe that I would follow a path in that direction. Though, when I was formally introduced to science in high school, I thought that there was nothing more beautiful, creative and poetic than the universe we live in. I was incredibly curious about it, and believed chemistry was the source of it all. Funnily enough, chemistry was a subject I struggled to understand in high school. Nonetheless, I had an unconditional love for it, which led me to choose a major in Medicinal Chemistry at UOW.
Despite initially not being confident with chemistry, I persisted and identified patterns that allowed me to evolve my understanding of the field. Eventually, that lack of confidence became passion. Even through its challenges, I found myself having a lot of fun, and I enjoyed the thrill of it. Finally, I had a basic grasp of how the world roughly worked. Then, a research project, where I was given the opportunity to clone a protein that hadn’t been studied in the last 40 years, allowed me to apply all I had learned, showing me the power of science. Through it, everything came full-circle, and I discovered my love for research.
The curse (or blessing?) of knowledge is that there will always be more to know. I wish to continue learning, researching and discovering, and in the future, apply this knowledge to help better the health of mankind.
Thank you to Rowe Scientific for their generous support, your help will aid me substantially during my final year of study. I would also like to thank my family and my late father, for encouraging me to question the world and to always seek curiosity and discovery.”

In Liam’s words;
“Food, as well being one of our most basic needs, has also become one of our most enduring pleasures. While undertaking my degree in food science, I’ve been particularly taken by the chemistry of food science, and how chemical reactions in the preparation of food can provide us with not just the nutrients we need to survive, but can unlock great flavours and textures as well.
The degree has shown me how the various chemical components of food have an impact on the flavour, texture, and nutritive value of the food, and how food scientists utilise this knowledge in the creation of new food products.
After my degree, I am very much looking forward to expanding my knowledge of food chemistry and using this to create food products that are not only full of flavour, but also high in nutritive value as well. I am very grateful and delighted to receive the prize, and I hope to use the prize to kick-start my career in food science.”

In Orlando’s words;
“I extend my thanks to you, and all involved, in providing the Rowe Scientific Chemistry Scholarship. It will assist my study of a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Analytical Chemistry), where less worry will be laid on monetary needs and I will be able to better focus on the full-time content of the course at Charles Sturt University.
I look forward to establishing a relationship with Rowe Scientific and many other companies involved in the Chemical Analytics industry. I hope to utilise these relationships in furthering study; whether it be work placement, communications with company members, study opportunities or a postgraduate job. Again, all of this will be much easier to reach knowing that less of my time will be focused on earning money and more focused on bettering my understanding of Chemistry.
It is hard not to mention the hardship myself (and many university students) have endured in the last year of study. Having begun study at the beginning of last year, the COVID-19 pandemic has made the hands-on aspect of chemistry difficult, with chemistry lab experiments having to be delivered virtually last year. Consequently, the foundational, practical aspects of my Chemistry knowledge are not well established yet, and, with the aid of the scholarship, I have greater incentive to accelerate my study to account for the unfortunate events of last year.
Moving forward, I dream to be involved in chemistry research that improves the continuation of life. I see chemistry as the foundation of understanding mankind’s effect on the planet, whether it be analysing organics of what has been, inorganics of what we produce or a mixture and their relationship. I can also view educating later generations in the chemical field a great aid in our world, where so much depends on the chemical reactions of reactants to products, so I see a teaching role as a further possibility in the future. This paints the picture upon graduation; I hope to find work assisting in research or further my studies in the hope of being a researcher myself and/or acquiring the required degrees for educating others in the field of chemistry.”

In Layton’s words;
“Thank you very much for the opportunity to receive this scholarship! My name is Layton Kulij and I’m originally from Lake Clifton, just outside of Mandurah WA. I’ve moved to Kalgoorlie for the year to complete the metallurgy units of my chemical engineering and extractive metallurgy degrees through Curtin. I love the outdoors and when home I’m generally always in or around the water. I love kitesurfing, scuba diving and fishing. I like to keep healthy by training CrossFit most days of the week.
I chose metallurgy since I have always had an interest in improving things and making them work more efficiently. Metallurgy will give me the opportunity to optimize current processes and ensure the smooth operation of a processing plant. I would like to start my working career as a plant metallurgist and work my way up to senior metallurgist before considering my opinions. I have always wanted to start a business so that is also on the cards.
My major goals for this year are to maintain an 80% course weighted average in my studies, obtain vacation work on a plant with floatation cells at the end of the year and work on a mine site part time throughout my year in Kalgoorlie.
Once again, I would like to thank Rowe Scientific for creating this scholarship as it has helped ease the financial aspect of moving 700kms from home. Furthermore, I am able to work a little less and put more time into my studies which is important to me."

As we now venture into the 2021/22 financial year, I'd like to personally thank all of our clients for the amazing support which saw another year of growth.
Mark Hunter who has been our Senior Storeperson in Adelaide for the past 17 years, is venturing into the next phase of life and will officially hang up his tape gun and Stanley knife for the last time on 30/9/21. We wish him all the very best.
Sam Mattiske and his wife Elle welcomed their first child into the world, a healthy baby boy! Sam is back in the office since the 26th of July. Lauren and myself have been doing our best to handle the workload in his absense.
We have decided to extend the end of financial year clearance offer to the end of August, so there is still time to take advantage of these excellent one-off specials.
We are still experiencing delays in some of our established supply channels and are doing our best to overcome them. We are also experiencing similar delays from our distributor partners who likewise are finding it challenging at the moment. Freight prices also continue to escalate, which will make the remainder of this year interesting.

May you live in interesting times. It certainly seems to be the case today. At the start of COVID Rowe Scientific was in the enviable position of having strong Australian stocks and good volumes in transit.
This has allowed us to continue to supply product when you needed it, almost without exception, over the last 18 months. Today the difficulty is replacing that stock at a similar price.
Six months ago we saw airfreight double in price, and remain there. Today we are struggling to obtain containers and then find a slot on a vessel to get them here. I recently did a calculation where the container freight costs from China was twice the cost of the goods. Ridiculous.
Please rest assured that we make every endeavour to supply you product when you need it, at the most economical price we can obtain.
