CLIENT OF THE MONTH:
FULTON HOGAN
Winners are chosen by our computer on a random basis. The prize is the client’s choice of $100 worth of laboratory items from a supplied list.
From Fulton Hogan .
“Fulton Hogan has more than 80 years experience in the transport, water, energy, mining, civil construction and land development infrastructure in New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific.
We create communities from the ground up, starting with our own network of quarries, which is complemented by our asphalt, emulsion and precast plants across Australia and New Zealand.
The names you see on our trucks, our hard hats and our high-vis vests are more than just a brand. They’re the names of our founders, Jules Fulton and Bob Hogan, who teamed up as partners in 1933 to start a contracting business and create a future for their families.
Today, those families, together with employees, still hold a major stake in our private, non-listed company. We’re proud to have maintained our private ownership which gives us the flexibility to work with any partner, and we have established a strong track record of working together with other parties to achieve the best possible project outcomes."

EDITH COWAN UNIVERSITY ROWE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FUND
|
|
Dr Magdalena Wajrak of Edith Cowan University, is pleased to announce that Mr Wade Lonsdale, a PhD student, is the 2017 recipient of the Rowe Scientific Research Fund.
|
|
|
Mr Lonsdale working in the Edith Cowan chemistry laboratory.
|
|
In Dr Wajrak’s words:
“The purpose of this research is to develop a miniaturised sensor array capable of measuring ammonium and pH in gastric juice. Development of a miniaturised sensor array capable of measuring ammonium and pH in gastric juice would allow for the development of a wireless endoscopic capsule that is capable of non-invasively identifying H. pylori infection. A wireless capsule for the identification of H. pylori would improve treatment of gastric ulcers and gastritis by offering a rapid and non-invasive test procedure that does not require the use of radioactive compounds or sophisticated analytical instrumentation. Also, the developed sensor would not be limited to use in gastric juice and may also be applicable for use in numerous environmental and industrial monitoring applications, such as long term in-situ water pH monitoring.”
Congratulations Wade, from the WA Rowe Scientific staff.

NEW SOUTH WALES
Dear Clients,
Preparing for the end of the year dash, the NSW team continues to focus on driving customer engagement through direct customer meetings and via participation in an increasing number of trade displays/conferences. The largest conference for Rowe this year was Foodpro which focuses on food processing and packaging.
The show was staged at the new International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour and was well attended throughout the four days from July 16 to 19. The Rowe display featured several of our core brands and was augmented by the presence of two of our international supply partners from Velp in Italy and MMM Medcenter in Germany.
The focus in recent weeks was on pursuing opportunities arising from our participation at Foodpro, however, this is now changing as we gear up for the run in to the end of the year which is traditionally our busiest time. Throughout the year we have continued to add new customers particularly in the Tertiary and Research sectors and we look forward to assisting both new and existing customers with sourcing and supply of their needs as the end of year dash commences.
Please contact your area representative or our friendly and helpful customer service team in our Sydney office (02) 9603 1205 to assist you in securing pricing and information on the instrumentation and consumables you need as you prepare for the year end activities.
All the best from: Allan, John, Kathryn, Kendall, Ken and Rodney.

QUEENSLAND
Dear Clients,
We are all looking forward to the advent of spring and the “extra energy boost” which seems to come with the warmer weather. One of our Brisbane team members recently attended the FoodPro exhibit in Sydney where we were fortunate to have the assistance of a Velp Specialist from Italy manning our booth together with the Rowe Scientific New South Wales team.
Both Brian and Adam have been visiting clients in North and Far North Queensland giving us lots of news and generating plenty of work for all of us back in the Brisbane office.
Do you need to do fast and simple water testing? Currently in stock: Hach DR900 Handheld Rugged Colorimeter with 4 fixed wavelengths: 420,520,560,610nm, for 90 of the most common test parameters, and storage of data for up to 500 tests. (Rowe Code IC1581)
Contact our team for more information and a quotation on this product.
Cheers from the Queensland team: Yvonne, Martin, Brian, Sean, Josephine, Leon, John, Steve, Adam and Colin.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Dear Clients,
Thanks for taking the time to read our newsletter. We have been active in the last weeks assisting our Eastern States colleagues at FoodPro, the RACI National Congress and locally at Diggers and Dealers in Kalgoorlie. I hope that if you saw us you stopped for a chat.
From our side, Paul Murphy attended all 3 events and is glad to be back from his “holiday”.
We have just implemented a new feature to our webstore that allows for a two-stage approval process. The requesting officer raises a basket of goods in our webstore which is parked. An email then advises his or her designated authoriser who releases or rejects the basket as necessary. Please advise us if this feature is of interest to you.
As always, thanks for your business,
Regards Peter Sommers and the West Australian Team.
